Communication with Our Families

We use a texting app called Talking Points. We encourage parents download the app to get the maximum use of texting with the teachers and school staff.


Breakfast

We open our doors at 7:30am for all students. Although the first bell does not ring until 7:40am, we want to give students the chance to come in to school, unpack and eat breakfast. Breakfast is served to all students for free, regardless of your family's financial situation. We hope this 'soft start' gives you and your child a stress-free start to the school day.

Center-Based Programming: DHH

We are the center-based program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students (DHH). This means that the resources needed to serve theses students are centered at our school and these students are bussed to our school to access these resources. These resources include specially-trained, licensed Teachers of the Deaf, Audiologists, Sign-Language Interpreters, and other students who identify as deaf to build a Deaf community. We are privileged to have about 40 DHH students as part of our school.


Center-Based Programming: Significant Support Needs

For students with physical and cognitive needs, we have two center-based programs. Both programs have a speciality in Deaf and Hard of Hearing resources as both of these programs are taught by licensed teachers of the deaf. Our preschool program, taught by Mrs. Angel Treviño, serves children ages 3-5. Our school age program, taught by Ms. Michelle Lord, serves children ages 5-11, from kindergarten through 5th grade.

At Lansing, we serve about 400 students in grades preschool-5th grade. We have between two and three sections at every grade level and our class sizes range from 18-25 students per class.
